Overview

In this Rail Systems Integration Engineer role, you will coordinate design interfaces across HS2 contractor teams and the client to ensure technical consistency and contractual compliance. You’ll manage system integration from design through construction, supporting RAM, safety, interoperability and security processes. You’ll drive standardisation of sub-systems and maintain ICDs, working with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on schedule and budget. Responsibilities
  • Coordinate interface management across Rail Systems, Civils, Stations and Client teams to ensure design cohesion and contractual compliance
  • Support, implement and maintain the Interface Management Plan and related integration processes
  • Deliver RAM, System Safety, Interoperability and Security management within FBRS frameworks
  • Oversee system integration from design to construction and manage system-level specifications and interface control documents
  • Harmonise sub-system deliverables across projects and contribute to standardising sub-system specifications
  • Update and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for railway design interfaces
  • Coordinate with contractors, client, designers and internal teams to resolve design interfaces
  • Coordinate supply chain to enable efficient, compliant design and progressive technical assurance
  • Attend and chair regular railway systems/civils integration meetings; support change, risk and opportunities identification
  • Provide technical input to commercial communications (SNCs, NCRs, CEs, Departures)
Key requirements
  • Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • Chartered status or membership in professional institutions (desirable)
  • Experience in major multi-disciplinary rail projects
  • Proven experience in design integration and interface coordination
  • Proficiency in design coordination, interface management and assurance documentation for railway projects
  • Knowledge of railway systems, operating requirements and available equipment
  • Awareness of system safety, interoperability, RAM processes and related regulations (CDM, CSM, RIR)
