As a Principal Rail Telecommunications Engineer, you lead telecoms design, assurance, and delivery across major rail projects. You guide multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient telecoms solutions. You will shape renewals, enhancements, and digital railway programs while managing risks and stakeholder interfaces. This role combines technical leadership with client engagement in a globally connected firm focused on infrastructure that matters.

- Lead telecoms design and engineering activities across the project lifecycle
- Provide technical assurance, design reviews, and governance
- Support telecoms renewals, enhancements, and digital railway programs
- Manage technical risks, interfaces, and system integration
- Mentor junior engineers and support professional development
- Engage with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders
- Significant experience in rail telecommunications engineering
- Strong knowledge of FTN/FTNx, fibre optics, IP networking, GSM-R, CCTV, PA, CIS, and telecoms transmission systems
- Experience working within Network Rail or major rail infrastructure environments
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or progress toward professional registration desirable
