R&D Technical Development Lead

Lead R&D product development in Ottawa with technical leadership, systems development, and cross-functional collaboration across complete product lifecycles. VIAVI Solutions seeks a Development Lead, R&D for product and systems development. You will support concept, research, development, new product introduction, production support, and continuous improvement. The work combines requirements, specifications, schedules, technical reviews, and manufacturing transition. Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate front-end research programs, prototypes, evaluations, and reports Develop or support requirements, specifications, and test plans Create detailed R&D schedules and provide resourcing input Support gate reviews, progress updates, and issue escalations Coordinate technical transition through new product introduction and deployment Requirements:
Degree in Physics or Engineering Physics Five-plus years in new product development Proven product or systems development background Experience with multidisciplinary collaborative teams Strong communication, detail, and presentation skills Apply technical leadership, product development expertise, and communication skills to VIAVI’s Ottawa R&D programs.
