Real Time Data Engineer

Build real-time and batch data pipelines for eBay and Depop using Kafka, Spark, and Flink to support millions of marketplace users.

As a Data Engineer, you will design scalable data solutions for critical eBay experiences. You will work with Kafka, Flink, Spark, Databricks, Airflow, dbt, and AWS. The role includes partnering with Data Science, Product, Analytics, and Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design real-time and batch pipelines using Kafka, Spark, and Flink
• Manage Airflow workflows for accurate downstream data availability
• Build scalable data platforms with Databricks and AWS
• Develop maintainable transformations and reusable datasets using dbt
• Own architecture, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support

Requirements:

• Three or more years in software or data engineering
• Programming experience with Python, Java, and/or Scala
• Experience with distributed processing using Kafka, Spark, and Flink
• Experience operating production workloads using Databricks
• Experience designing and deploying AWS or comparable cloud solutions
