We are working with a leading global financial services firm seeking a strong
Software Engineer with electronic trading/trading systems experience . This is a highly technical role combining
Python software development, live trading systems and production engineering . You will work closely with traders and technology teams, troubleshooting issues affecting live trading while building tools and automation to improve the reliability and scalability of the trading environment. Key Responsibilities Monitor high-volume
live trading activity, positions, P&L and portfolio risk Develop and maintain
Python-based tools and automation
supporting trading operations Diagnose and resolve issues across complex, real-time trading systems Investigate discrepancies involving
trading positions, broker statements and internal systems Build programmatic solutions to improve the scalability and efficiency of trading operations Coordinate software and hardware upgrades across the trading environment Manage technical and operational projects involving multiple internal teams Work closely with trading, engineering and support functions to maintain reliable trading operations What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline 3+ years of relevant professional experience , ideally within electronic trading, quantitative trading, hedge funds, investment banking, capital markets or a similar environment Strong working knowledge of
Linux Experience working with
P&L and risk reporting systems Strong understanding of
trading technology and financial markets Knowledge of current
market structure
and relevant regulatory developments Experience diagnosing issues within
complex, real-time systems Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-performance environment Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams The Ideal Profile We’re particularly interested in candidates who combine
hands-on engineering ability with genuine trading-domain knowledge . You may currently be working in trading operations, trading technology, production engineering, electronic trading support or a similar function. This is
not a traditional IT support or back-office operations position . Strong Python skills and experience working directly with trading systems, P&L, risk or live market environments are important.
