Red Hat OpenShift Engineer – Contract

Ampstek is looking for a hands-on OpenShift Engineer to join a global investment bank's platform team in Glasgow. This is a great opportunity to build your career on a large-scale enterprise container platform in a tier-1 banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and administer Red Hat OpenShift 4.x clusters in production and non-production
• Deploy, monitor and troubleshoot containerised applications (pods, deployments, routes, services)
• Assist with cluster upgrades, patching and routine maintenance
• Manage projects/namespaces, user access and resource quotas
• Support CI/CD pipelines and application onboarding onto the platform
• Respond to incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs
• Maintain runbooks and technical documentation

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years in Linux / infrastructure / DevOps roles
• Hands-on experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes administration
• Experience with Docker or Podman, YAML and Helm
• Basic scripting (Bash, Python or Ansible)
• Familiarity with Git and a CI/CD tool (Jenkins, Tekton, GitLab CI or ArgoCD)

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Prometheus / Grafana monitoring
• Experience in banking or another regulated industry
• Must have the right to work in the UK (British Citizen, ILR or EU Settled Status). Visa sponsorship is not available.
• Must be able to work from Glasgow on a hybrid basis.
• Candidates will need to clear a standard financial services background check.
