About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Relationship Manager to join their corporate banking division in East London. This role is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of corporate clients, understanding their financial needs, and providing tailored banking solutions. You will act as the primary point of contact, building strong, long-term relationships and ensuring client satisfaction while identifying opportunities for cross-selling various banking products. This is a key position for an individual looking to excel in client-facing roles within the South African banking sector and contribute to the growth of their commercial client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and nurture a portfolio of existing corporate clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the corporate client base.
  • Understand clients' financial requirements and provide appropriate banking solutions (loans, cash management, trade finance, etc.).
  • Conduct financial analysis and due diligence on prospective and existing clients.
  • Prepare credit proposals and manage the credit assessment process for corporate clients.
  • Stay informed about market trends and competitor activities to effectively serve clients.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate banking, relationship management, or a similar client-facing role.
  • Proven track record in client acquisition, relationship management, and sales within the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, credit analysis, and various banking products.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
