Remote Go Software Engineer

Build dependable software remotely with Go, coding agents, and production-focused engineering at Tailscale. Turn prototypes into customer-ready products.

As a Software Engineer on Tailscale’s Strategic Projects team, you will help move emerging workloads from prototype to dependable product. You will use Go, third-party APIs, networking, and LLM tooling while partnering with product-minded engineers. The team supports secure connectivity initiatives including Aperture, an identity-aware LLM gateway.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shape prototypes with production requirements built into development
• Harden software through error handling and observability
• Own security and review practices for agent-generated code
• Integrate Tailscale with reference customers and their products
• Close edge cases, regressions, testing, and operational gaps

Requirements:

• Experience taking software from prototype to production
• Strong Go experience and third-party API integration skills
• Basic networking knowledge
• Heavy daily use of coding agents and LLMs
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
