Remote Network Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated Remote Network Administrator to manage and maintain their robust network infrastructure. Operating from a remote location, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our client's network systems, supporting a distributed workforce across various time zones. This role requires exceptional technical expertise in network management, proactive problem-solving, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with IT teams and end-users. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to work independently and contribute significantly to the technological backbone of the organization without the need for a physical office presence in Randburg or elsewhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network infrastructures.
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and efficiency.
• Configure and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining security protocols, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
• Provide remote technical support for network-related issues, troubleshooting connectivity problems for users.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar network engineering role.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and network hardware.
• Hands-on experience with network security principles, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Proficiency in network monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
• Strong communication skills for effective remote collaboration and user support.
