Role Responsibilities
- Own complex technical work end to end: breaking down ambiguous problems, making deliberate trade-off decisions, and shipping well-considered code that improves customer outcomes.
- Invest time in mentoring, code reviews, pairing, and helping less experienced engineers grow.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in the UK, India, and the US.
- Embrace AI-first development, utilizing AI tooling throughout the engineering lifecycle to move faster and build better software.
- Take responsibility for all code and services deployed in production.
Technical Skills and Experience
- Proficiency with AWS, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Kafka, Temporal, Datadog, Terraform, gRPC, GraphQL, Kotlin.
- Experience designing and architecting microservices systems, including distributed data management and event-driven architectures.
- Skilled in designing and operating containerized software hosted in cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with cloud-based data storage such as relational databases, NoSQL stores, and data caches.
- Experience programming in strongly-typed languages in the Java family (Java, Scala, Kotlin).
- Experience with petabyte-scale, high-availability software systems, especially for regulated industries.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: £90,000 to £114,000 + performance-related bonus + equity.
