Reserving Manager - Syndicate

A leading specialist insurance business is seeking a FIA qualified actuary to join its London-based reserving function. This is an excellent opportunity to take a prominent role across multiple managed syndicates within an established international organisation. You will lead 3 direct reports.

Working closely with the Head of Reserving and Chief Actuary, you will support key reserving judgements, deliver quarterly and year-end reserving processes, and produce clear, high-quality reports. You will present analysis to senior actuarial, underwriting and claims stakeholders, develop reserve-monitoring information for management and committees, and contribute to regulatory submissions.

The role includes responsibility for data processing, documentation, external audit liaison and engagement with SAO providers. You will also lead and develop an effective team while improving processes through new technologies and methodologies.

You will be a qualified actuary with strong general insurance experience and detailed knowledge of actuarial reserving techniques. Experience of Lloyd's business, people management, Python or other coding languages, and Res-Q would be advantageous. Excellent Excel, report-writing and communication skills are essential, alongside sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise during demanding periods.
