Safety and Security support engineer
SSR Personnel
Site-based role focused on maintaining and troubleshooting the Video Management System (VMS) and related security infrastructure at a key client site in Central London. You will protect assets and people by ensuring system reliability and optimal performance, acting as the onsite point of contact for SOC and IT teams. You will work on configuring, updating, and upgrading VMS components while coordinating with cross-functional teams. This is a hands-on, multi-task role with impact on security operations and incident response.

- Update and remediate VMS cameras and hardware
- Ensure proper cabling and network connectivity for devices
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on VMS systems
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime
- Monitor system performance and apply upgrades or adjustments
- Ensure compliance with security standards and client requirements
- Maintain documentation of asset changes and configurations
- Assist with detailed system health and incident reports
- Act as onsite support contact for SOC and IT/Network teams
- Provide system usage guidance and best practices to users
- Minimum 2 years in security systems engineering
- Background in electrical engineering, IT networking, or related field preferred
- Experience in VMS configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of IP-based cameras, networking fundamentals, and VMS
- Genetec certification and camera manufacturer training (preferred)
