Overview

As a Salesforce Technical Architect, you will lead the technical direction of a complex Salesforce platform, ensuring stability, scalability, and future-ready growth. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize solutions, reduce technical debt, and define a pragmatic target-state architecture and roadmap. You will remain hands-on to prototype and validate decisions while guiding governance, release management, and DevOps improvements. This role offers significant impact by shaping how the platform supports ongoing business delivery and rapid, safer releases.

Responsibilities
  • Own the technical architecture of a complex Salesforce platform
  • Assess and modernise existing Salesforce solutions and custom developments
  • Define and deliver a long-term architectural roadmap
  • Identify and address technical debt and platform risks
  • Improve platform stability, scalability, maintainability, and observability
  • Lead architecture reviews and technical governance activities
  • Drive improvements across CI/CD, release management, testing, and development standards
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to development teams
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to balance immediate business needs with long-term platform health
  • Support the transition towards more frequent, lower-risk software releases
Key requirements
  • Extensive experience as a Salesforce Technical Architect or Lead Salesforce Architect
  • Deep knowledge of Salesforce platform architecture and best practices
  • Hands-on development experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flows, Salesforce APIs and integrations
  • Experience in complex, heavily customised Salesforce environments
  • Ability to assess and modernise legacy or brownfield Salesforce implementations
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce security, data modelling, and governance
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise integration solutions
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices including Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and release management
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to balance architectural leadership with hands-on technical delivery
  • Salesforce Technical Architect Certification (CTA) or equivalent architect-level certifications
  • Experience with managed packages in large Salesforce implementations
  • Exposure to observability, monitoring, and platform performance optimisation
  • Experience driving agile transformation and engineering best practices
