Job Title: SAP Fioneer FPSL Functional Consultant
Location: Toronto, Ontario (ON)
Work Arrangement: Onsite – 4 Days
Job Type: Full Time

We are seeking an experienced SAP Fioneer Financial Products Subledger (FPSL) Functional Consultant with strong hands-on experience in banking products, FPSL configuration, accounting processes, integrations, testing, and reconciliation. The consultant will translate approved finance designs into FPSL configurations and support implementation through testing, reconciliation, and go-live activities.

Key Responsibilities

FPSL Functional Configuration

• Configure FPSL objects for banking products including loans, advances, deposits, money market instruments, and securities
• Configure contract types, contract attributes, event types, event processing, posting schemas, and accounting determinations
• Support valuation areas, subledger accounting layers, accounting principles, and ledgers
• Translate approved finance designs into FPSL configurations

Accounting & IFRS 9

• Implement FPSL accounting logic aligned with IFRS 9 classifications including Amortized Cost (AC), Fair Value Through Other Comprehensive Income (FVOCI), and Fair Value Through Profit or Loss (FVTPL)
• Support Effective Interest Rate (EIR) based accruals, amortization, fees, and charges
• Support initial recognition, accrual, amortization, and derecognition events
• Validate accounting outcomes and posting results at contract and General Ledger (GL) levels

Integration Support

• Support inbound integrations from core banking, treasury, and trading systems
• Validate event payloads, attribute mappings, and data enrichments
• Support outbound integration to SAP S/4HANA Universal Journal
• Validate document splitting, GL account derivations, and posting completeness
• Execute and support Unit Testing (UT), System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Perform reconciliations between source systems, FPSL, and General Ledger
• Troubleshoot functional defects and posting discrepancies
• Support deployment, go-live, and post-production stabilization activities

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP Fioneer FPSL
• Experience implementing FPSL for banking products
• Strong understanding of subledger accounting and financial products
• Knowledge of IFRS 9 and local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance and Universal Journal
• Experience with source-system integrations and event-based accounting
• Strong testing, reconciliation, and defect-resolution skills
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
