We are working with a leading global IT and business consulting firm, deeply embedded in UK Defence and National Security, to identify an experienced SC-cleared Cloud Engineer to join their defence team.

This isn't a back-office IT role — you'll be building and operating secure cloud platforms that directly support national security operations, working alongside architects, security specialists and operations teams on complex, high-stakes environments most engineers never get near. You'll get exposure to cutting-edge cloud, automation and infrastructure-as-code work, on programmes where getting it right actually matters to the country. Our client has an established track record spanning decades of delivering technology to UK Defence and intelligence agencies, with a genuine investment in growing its people — strong mentoring, clear routes into senior technical or leadership roles, and support to go deep into the areas you're most drawn to.

Essential:

Active SC clearance UK resident for a minimum of 5 years Due to the secure nature of the role, candidates must be sole UK nationals Hands-on cloud engineering experience (AWS, Azure or GCP) — deployment, automation, or platform operations Comfortable working within secure, regulated environments

Desirable:

Defence, Intelligence, or wider public sector background Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM) Military transition candidates with hands-on technical cloud experience

What's on offer:

£55,000 - £75,000 depending on experience, plus benefits package, structured career development, and the opportunity to work on genuinely mission-critical technology within a collaborative, expert-led team.
