Scala Developer

K&K Talents is an international recruiting agency that has been providing technical resources in the European region since 1993. This position is with one of our clients in UK who is actively hiring candidates to expand their teams.

Position : Scala Developer

Location : Bromley, UK (Hybrid)

Type : Full Time Permanent

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using Scala.

Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices.

Develop and optimize database solutions using MySQL.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Troubleshoot and resolve application performance and reliability issues.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to software design and development best practices.

Support CI/CD implementation and deployment automation initiatives

Required

6+ years of overall IT industry experience, with strong expertise in software development.

Strong programming experience in Scala, and familiarity with Scala frameworks.

Good working knowledge of Java and backend application development.

Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Functional Programming (FP) concepts.

Experience designing and developing scalable, high-performance applications and services.

Strong knowledge of MySQL, including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.

Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.

Experience with version control systems such as Git.

Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
