Scalable Microservices Backend Engineer

Design highly scalable RESTful microservices for Atlassian while working fully remotely from a United States timezone. Apply backend engineering and cloud architecture skills. This Backend Software Engineer role focuses on delivering creative improvements for engineering teams. You will build daily features in a cross-geo distributed environment and support reliable backend services. The position uses modern object-oriented programming, database technologies, and public cloud offerings. Key Responsibilities:

Build daily features and capabilities for distributed systems Review code using reliability and documentation best practices Monitor high-performing backend services and report errors Share expertise through formal knowledge sessions Participate in Agile software development activities Requirements:

Three or more years developing backend applications Experience with scalable, performant RESTful microservices Fluency in one database technology, relational or NoSQL Hands-on experience with AWS, GAE, or Azure Familiarity with cloud architecture patterns and quality engineering Use scalable microservices, backend development, databases, and cloud architecture to improve Atlassian engineering teams’ services.
