You will join Airbus Defence and Space as a Ground Systems Test Engineer, focusing on validating spacecraft control systems for critical missions. Responsibilities
  • Develop, execute, and document integration plans for Spacecraft Ground Control software and systems
  • Create and execute test plans, procedures, and cases for Spacecraft Control Centre software and systems
  • Administer SRM test facilities and supporting computer systems
  • Conduct functional, performance, integration, and regression testing of SCC components (flight software, ground software, HIL)
  • Analyze test results, report defects, and track issues using defect tracking tools
  • Collaborate with software developers, system engineers, and mission operations to ensure test coverage
  • Participate in formal reviews and audits of testing artifacts
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies
  • Provide technical support during critical mission phases (launch, in-orbit)
  • Ensure testing activities align with AIRBUS DS quality standards and regulations
Key requirements
  • Proven experience in integration and validation of complex systems, preferably in space or aerospace
  • Strong understanding of Spacecraft Control Centre (SCC) architectures and functionalities
  • Proficiency with Red Hat and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Windchill, SVN, Git)
  • Familiarity with defect tracking systems (JIRA)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to convey technical concepts
  • Ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Security clearance: must have or be able to obtain UK Eyes Only SC/DV clearance
