Overview

In this Scrum Master role, you enable multidisciplinary technology delivery teams to operate with clarity and velocity. You’ll coach teams, foster self-organisation, and ensure delivery commitments are understood and met, while maintaining governance and visibility across workstreams. This position combines hands-on agile delivery with broader delivery management to drive predictable outcomes. You’ll work closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, and technical specialists to implement practical improvements and support transformational delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives)
  • Coach delivery teams, Product Owners and stakeholders in Agile principles and delivery behaviours
  • Support sustainable delivery cadence and improve predictability
  • Promote transparency with Agile metrics and team-level reporting
  • Support backlog refinement and sprint readiness
  • Foster collaboration across delivery teams, stakeholders and technical specialists
  • Run workshops and retrospectives to drive practical improvements
  • Embed continuous improvement and shared ownership of delivery outcomes
  • Support delivery planning, forecasting and roadmap management across workstreams
  • Manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies ensuring visibility and progress
  • Monitor progress against objectives, timelines and sprint goals
  • Provide concise status reporting on progress, risks, dependencies and forecasts
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies and governance activities
Key requirements
  • 5+ years as a Scrum Master in Agile software/technology delivery
  • Delivery leadership experience (Delivery Manager/Project Manager) with planning, risk and stakeholder engagement responsibility
  • Proven track record delivering complex software/digital change initiatives in Agile environments
  • Strong understanding of Scrum and Agile delivery practices
  • Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and stakeholder workshops
  • Experience managing and reporting delivery risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Experience translating priorities into clear delivery plans with Product Owners and teams
  • Familiarity with delivery governance, planning, forecasting and assurance
  • Familiarity with project budgeting and spend reporting
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and coaching skills with stakeholder influence
  • Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps or equivalent tools
  • Desirable certifications: PSM/CSM; PRINCE2/APM PMP or equivalent
  • Experience working across multiple Agile teams or cross-team dependencies
  • Experience in public sector/regulated environments
  • Knowledge of Lean, Kanban or other Agile approaches
  • Experience supporting technology transformation and cloud/digital delivery programs
