Scrum Master | Telford | Public Sector

Location: Telford, 1 day per week onsite
Rate: 550 per day, Inside IR35
Contract: 12 months, with potential for extension
Clearance: BPSS

We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master operating to join a complex technology delivery environment for a central Government Department.

This role would particularly suit someone who has progressed into Scrum Master or Agile Delivery positions from a software development or software testing background and therefore brings a strong technical understanding alongside their Agile delivery experience.

This is not a purely facilitative Scrum Master role . You will take a delivery-focused approach, using your technical knowledge to identify risks early, challenge constructively and adapt ways of working where required to ensure teams continue to deliver successfully.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Scrum Master for one or more delivery teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies
  • Drive delivery outcomes while applying Agile principles pragmatically
  • Identify and remove delivery impediments, risks and dependencies
  • Use your technical background to assess delivery health, quality and readiness
  • Work closely with Developers, Testers, Product Owners and Delivery Leads
  • Provide clear delivery updates to stakeholders
  • Ensure delivery activities align with relevant governance requirements
  • Challenge teams and stakeholders constructively to keep delivery on track

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Scrum Master at SFIA Level 5
  • Previous hands-on experience within software development or software testing
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle
  • Experience working within complex, multi-team technology environments
  • Strong delivery focus, with the ability to identify and resolve blockers
  • Confident stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to challenge, influence and drive positive delivery outcomes

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience within government, public sector or other regulated environments
