Overview

In this role you lead secure software development and testing, embedding DevSecOps practices across projects. You will drive security testing maturity, coordinate with engineering teams, and ensure environments meet security standards for client deliveries. You’ll oversee secure coding practices, threat modelling, and testing workflows, enabling secure software delivery at scale. This position offers the chance to shape security-focused delivery within a hybrid multi-cloud and on-premises environment, reporting to the Security Development and Testing Director.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the delivery, quality, and SLA/KPI compliance of secure development and testing services across projects
  • Act as the technical escalation point and coordinate with senior stakeholders
  • Support client engagements with documentation, test results, and assessment reports
  • Embed security tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) into CI/CD pipelines and automate security testing workflows
  • Support threat modelling and secure design practices at project level
  • Participate in security reviews of new features and applications
  • Plan and execute security tests (static and dynamic), ensure tooling is maintained, and action results
  • Track vulnerability remediation and provide secure coding guidance to developers
  • Monitor testing coverage and analyze issue resolution trends
  • Identify opportunities for automation and improve testing efficiency; contribute to standards and metrics
Key requirements
  • 5+ years in leading secure software development, testing, or DevSecOps environments
  • Hands-on experience with security testing tools (e.g., Veracode, SonarQube, Burp Suite)
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices, OWASP Top 10, and threat modelling
  • Experience in Agile or DevOps-driven environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Relevant security or DevSecOps certifications preferred (e.g., CSSLP, CEH, GWEB)
  • Eligible for SC clearance in the UK
