Senior Accountant

Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including preparing and posting journal entries; manage the end-to-end fixed assets and intangible assets accounting process, including capitalization, depreciation and amortization, disposals, and continuity schedules; prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations (prepaids, accruals, intercompany), investigating and resolving variances; support external audit activities, including preparation of supporting documentation and responses to auditor requests; assist with statutory compliance requirements for global subsidiaries; ensure financial records adhere to GAAP, SOX controls, and internal accounting policies; coordinate mandatory government surveys; contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability; collaborate with cross-functional teams including FP&A, treasury, and tax; assist with ad hoc accounting-related analyses and reporting requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional accounting designation (CPA Canada or U.S. CPA) preferred
- 5+ years of progressive corporate accounting or public accounting experience
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven close environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills within an accounting and reconciliation context
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional teams
