Senior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their finance team in Kimberley . This hybrid role will involve managing key accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supporting financial reporting processes. You will play a vital role in month-end and year-end close activities, reconciliations, and compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage general ledger functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring financial performance against plan.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function and implement solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
• Solid understanding of IFRS, financial reporting principles, and South African tax laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
