Senior Accountant

The Opportunity

Synergy Search is conducting a confidential search for a Senior Accountant on behalf of a fast growing construction and technology services company. This is a newly created role: you will be the go to technical accountant on the team, owning the general ledger and working side by side with the Controller.

What You Will Own

• Own the general ledger across a multi entity structure

• Prepare and post manual journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and intercompany activity

• Run consolidations, intercompany reconciliations, and eliminations

• Deliver on a fast monthly close and prepare reporting packages for corporate

• Own lease accounting under ASC 842 and fixed asset accounting

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review trial balances across all entities

• Partner with project accounting to tie job cost activity back to the general ledger

• Help design and strengthen internal controls in a public company environment

• Support forecasting, audit schedules, and ad hoc analysis for finance leadership

What You Need

• 3+ years of public accounting experience (audit or advisory), ideally at the senior level

• CPA or actively pursuing your CPA

• Broad exposure across the full balance sheet and income statement, not limited to one area or cycle

• Working knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups

What Sets You Apart

• Public accounting experience with hands on work across multiple clients

• Exposure to multi entity consolidations and intercompany accounting

• SOX or internal controls experience is a plus

• Construction, contracting, or project based industry experience is a plus

• Familiarity with job costing and percentage of completion accounting
