Senior Accountant | Western Chicago Suburbs (3 days/week in office)

Looking for an accountant who wants real ownership, not just a seat at the close.

Our client, a growing organization, is adding a Senior Accountant to its accounting team. You will own a defined set of general ledger accounts, including prepaids, vendor rebates, and accruals, and be the person senior leaders turn to when they need to understand what is behind the numbers.

What you will do:

• Own your accounts from transaction to reconciliation, with accuracy and clear variance insights

• Support budgeting and forecasting alongside accounting leaders and department heads

• Strengthen internal controls and partner with auditors

• Find smarter ways to close the books, including using AI tools to take manual work off your plate

• Work with teams across the business, from peers to senior management

What will make you a fit:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• Public accounting, consulting, xhqgsiq or corporate accounting experience

• Strong understanding of internal controls and segregation of duties

• Advanced Excel skills and a sharp eye for detail

• Confident communicator and a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced setting

• A plus: experience with Power BI, Power Query, or Alteryx
