Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting

Our Calgary-based client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting to play a key role in financial operations. Reporting to the Corporate Controller and working closely with the Assistant Controller, you will manage a portfolio of companies and oversee technical accounting, financial reporting, and the full accounting cycle, including month-end close, tax, GST, audit support, and year-end reporting. Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and reconciliations.
• Manage full-cycle accounting, including month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare and post journal entries in Sage 300, Sage Intacct, and CaseWare.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and supporting working papers.
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and respond to inquiries.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and support reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with ASPE, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and file GST returns and support tax compliance activities.
• Assist with tax audits, inquiries, and supporting documentation.
• Support project accounting, loan draws, and entity closeout activities.

Your strengths include:

• CPA designation required; post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of public accounting experience.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and analysis skills.
• Experience with Sage 300, Sage Intacct, and CaseWare is an asset.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Detail-oriented team player with strong communication, relationship-building, and independent problem-solving skills.
