Salary: $60,000–$80,000 + 8% Annual Bonus (DOE)

We are partnering with a growing organization in the construction and distribution industry seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join its accounting team.

This is a newly created position due to continued company growth. The ideal candidate will have strong full-cycle accounts payable experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with accounting, operations, and vendors.

We are open to both experienced AP Specialists and Staff Accountants with a strong concentration in accounts payable.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, approvals, and vendor payments.
• Review invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Assist with weekly payment runs and cash forecasting.
• Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding balances.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, purchase order issues, and payment inquiries.
• Maintain vendor accounts and assist with new vendor onboarding.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with 1099 preparation and required filings.
• Support general accounting activities and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company accounting procedures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-cycle accounts payable experience.
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, and payment procedures.
• Experience working with accounting software or ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, particularly for candidates seeking the higher end of the salary range.
• Microsoft Dynamics GP experience is a plus.
• Industry-specific experience is not required.

Compensation & Benefits

• $60,000–$70,000 for experienced AP Specialists.
• Up to $80,000 for candidates with an Accounting degree and strong AP experience.
