Senior Accounts Software Engineer

Build resilient accounts platforms remotely in Canada with Penn Interactive, using REST APIs, gRPC services, and SQL for critical player systems.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Accounts team, you will design, scale, and performance-tune systems supporting registration, authentication, identity verification, compliance, and notifications. You will solve complex technical problems, deliver features end-to-end, and improve production reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and tune REST APIs, gRPC services, and SQL queries
• Deliver features across registration, identity, compliance, and notifications
• Identify production bottlenecks and drive scalable platform improvements
• Configure Datadog monitoring and alerting for owned systems
• Mentor engineers through specifications, pairing, and code reviews

Requirements:

• Minimum five years of software engineering experience
• Strong computer science, distributed systems, and software design foundations
• Experience with production performance regressions, load testing, and tracing
• Experience with web frameworks, APIs, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• Understanding of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, MFA, and secure PII handling
