Senior AI Software Engineer Vancouver

Design AI systems in Vancouver with Asana, using distributed systems expertise and agentic technology curiosity in an office-centric hybrid schedule.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute across Asana’s AI engineering teams. Depending on team placement, you may shape agentic runtime architecture, evaluation and safety infrastructure, or customer-facing builders and canvas surfaces. The organization-wide process matches candidates with an ideal team after technical interviews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical design and delivery across the AI roadmap
• Design performant systems for agentic execution and model orchestration
• Break ambiguous product visions into engineering milestones
• Write design docs, establish testing norms, and mentor engineers
• Partner with product, design, and data science teams

Requirements:

• Six-plus years designing production distributed systems or complex architectures
• Technical leadership across multiple services or codebases
• Experience or deep interest in LLMs and agentic patterns
• Ability to evaluate trade-offs and make durable architectural decisions
• Experience driving projects across ambiguity and dependencies
