In this Senior Algorithm Specialist role, you will shape the design and testing of advanced Guidance & Control systems for missile platforms. You’ll work hands-on across detailed G&C design and higher architectural levels, balancing rigorous analysis with practical implementation. The role spans multiple programmes, enabling cross‑functional collaboration and influence on technology choices and verification approaches. This is a mission‑driven opportunity to impact real systems while operating in a dynamic, hybrid on-site environment in Bristol.

- Develop and refine guidance, control and navigation algorithms across detailed designs and higher architectures
- Shape design and testing strategies for sophisticated G&C systems and real-time architectures
- Collaborate across departments and programmes from concept to flight trials
- Analyze and manage complexity in large, interconnected engineering systems
- Cross-verify models and theory against engineering implementations and simulations
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders
- Diagnose anomalies in engineering systems through modelling and simulation (Matlab & Simulink)
- Influence technical directions when multiple factors affect teams
- Theoretical knowledge and extensive experience in aerospace guidance, control and navigation specification, analysis, algorithm design & implementation, real-time architecture and verification
- Ability to bound engineering problems with clear, unambiguous requirements/objectives
- Experience in managing complexity in large systems
- Proficiency in verifying systems and models against theory
- Strong communication of complex ideas
- Experience with computer modelling and simulation (Matlab & Simulink)
- Ability to influence technically within team dynamics
- Interest in flight control applications (preferably, but not essential)
