Senior Android Infrastructure Developer

Android infrastructure expertise powers Google developer tools in Waterloo, where Kotlin or Java supports large-scale application development and architecture. Build foundations used across Google mobile applications.

As a Senior Android Infrastructure Software Developer on Google’s Core team, you will design and maintain developer infrastructure. Your work spans build tooling, frameworks, and libraries for first-party mobile applications. You will also improve developer productivity through cross-functional solutions, design reviews, code review, and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Android developer infrastructure for Google mobile applications
• Build and maintain tooling, frameworks, and libraries
• Identify productivity bottlenecks with product teams
• Lead design reviews and review developers’ code
• Triage issues affecting operations and software quality

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• Five years’ software development experience in programming languages
• Three years’ Android application development experience
• Experience with Kotlin or Java development
• Large-scale application design and architecture experience
