Senior Application Support Engineer (Linux, Scripting & SQL)

A Global Financial Service Broker / Exchange are looking for a technically strong Application Support Engineer to work alongside trading and quant teams on business-critical systems.

Role focus

  • Deep-dive troubleshooting across Linux-based applications
  • Identify root cause of performance and data issues
  • Automate operational processes through scripting
  • Support highly available, real-time trading environments

Core skills

  • Advanced Linux knowledge (file systems, permissions, processes, networking basics)
  • Scripting experience (Bash and/or Python)
  • Strong SQL (data analysis + query optimisation)
  • Experience supporting trading / financial systems preferred
  • Monitoring & alerting tools (ITRS/Geneos) beneficial

We are specifically seeking engineers with strong technical depth, not purely functional support backgrounds.
