Senior Associate, Data Centre Engineer

Overview

In this role you will support enterprise data centre operations across global sites, ensuring highly available and secure infrastructure. You will perform hands-on hardware installation, cable management, and power and cooling coordination while coordinating with facilities, vendors and cross-functional teams. You’ll help maintain accurate documentation and contribute to capacity planning and infrastructure modernization. This position offers a path to impact scalable, reliable data center services within a growing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate day-to-day data center and remote office infrastructure support
  • Perform rack and stack for servers, storage, network and devices
  • Install, configure, relocate, decommission, and maintain physical hardware
  • Manage power, cooling, cabling, and environmental monitoring requirements
  • Coordinate with facilities, colocation providers, network, security, and vendors
  • Maintain rack elevations, cabling diagrams, asset inventory, and operational records
  • Support hardware lifecycle management including procurement, deployment, and retirement
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate break-fix with vendors
  • Support server platforms such as HPE, Dell, Cisco UCS, Lenovo or equivalents
  • Assist with data center capacity planning and modernization initiatives
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity readiness
  • Maintain SOPs, runbooks, documentation and diagrams
  • Provide on-call and off-hours support as needed
  • Engage with ITSM processes and incident management
  • Assist with security remediation and audit support
Key requirements
  • 6-10 years’ experience in enterprise data center or physical IT infrastructure
  • Hands-on rack and stack, structured cabling, server hardware installation
  • Experience with HPE, Dell, Cisco UCS, Lenovo or equivalent platforms
  • Experience working with data center facilities, colocation providers, MSPs and vendors
  • Strong understanding of power distribution, PDUs, UPS, HVAC and monitoring
  • Experience maintaining rack elevations, cabling diagrams, asset inventory, power mappings
  • Hardware troubleshooting, firmware updates, vendor case management, break-fix coordination
  • Experience with Windows Server, Linux, VMware, networking, storage and backup from a data center perspective
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow) for incident/change/asset management
  • Monitoring tools and out-of-band management interfaces (iLO, iDRAC, IPMI)
  • Understanding of change, incident, asset management and risk controls
  • Preferred understanding of disaster recovery, business continuity testing and data center recovery documents
  • Planned maintenance, off-hours support and incident response experience
  • Silicone certifications such as CDCP, ITIL, CompTIA Server+, Network+ are preferred
  • Experience with data center infrastructure management tools and asset management platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with cross-functional teams
