Senior Associate - FIDO

In this role you will join Clyde & Co’s market-leading FIDO practice in London to advise insurers on D&O and Financial Institutions claims, spanning from notification to resolution. You will work on high-profile, complex matters for insurer clients across banks, funds and asset managers, across multiple jurisdictions. You will support multi-stakeholder governance and contribute to business development while mentoring junior lawyers. This is a chance to shape coverage strategies on challenging losses in a global context.

• Advising insurers and reinsurers on D&O and Financial Institutions claims from notification to resolution
• Handling claims against banks, building societies, pension funds, investment trusts, asset managers and hedge funds
• Defending complex matters including directors’ disqualification, wrongful trading, insolvency-related and regulatory actions
• Advising on complex coverage issues like policy interpretation, aggregation, exclusions and indemnity disputes
• Managing and conducting coverage litigation, arbitration and mediation
• Monitoring global claims, guiding on large programmes and leakage control
• Collaborating with steering committees on multi-jurisdictional high-value claims
• Supporting partners with business development and growing the FIDO practice
• Mentoring junior team members and sharing knowledge

• England & Wales qualified solicitor (or equivalent common law qualification)
• Significant post-qualification experience in Financial Institutions and/or D&O insurance
• Strong experience advising insurer clients on complex claims and coverage issues
• Experience of handling or supporting litigation, arbitration and mediation
• Understanding of insolvency-related claims, regulatory investigations or financial misconduct (desirable)
• Excellent analytical, drafting and advocacy skills
• Ability to manage complex matters and multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, international environment
