Senior Authorised Person (SAP) Engineer

Johnson & Phillips is looking for an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) Engineer to join us in an on-site role in the Chester area .

The successful candidate will support the safe operation, maintenance and testing of HV electrical systems , with responsibility for switching and safe systems of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out HV switching, isolation and earthing procedures
• Prepare and manage switching schedules
• Issue and cancel HV safety documents
• Manage Permits to Work, Sanctions for Test and Limitations of Access
• Coordinate HV maintenance, installation and testing activities
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety rules and site procedures
• Support planned works and emergency call-outs when required

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience working as an SAP on HV systems
• Strong experience with 11kV systems ; 33kV experience is advantageous
• Experience with HV switchgear, transformers and protection systems
• Recognised HV authorisation / competency certification
• Strong understanding of electrical safety and safe systems of work
• Ability to work independently and coordinate site activities
• Full UK driving licence
