Senior AWS Data Engineer

Build scalable data pipelines with AWS Glue, Kafka, and Python as a Senior Data Engineer at Sun Life, working in a hybrid environment.

This Senior Data Engineer supports Canadian Operations within Data Engineering and Operations. You will design infrastructure, maintain ETL processes, create data models, and guide other engineers. Your work supports data-driven decision-making through organized, actionable analytics services and insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design scalable pipelines using AWS Glue, Kafka, and Step Functions
• Optimize ETL processes with SSIS, Informatica, or Talend
• Create data models supporting business intelligence and analytics
• Guide Data Engineers on ETL development and data sourcing
• Ensure data quality, security, and regulatory compliance

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
• Five to ten years designing, modeling, and developing ETL
• Strong SQL and Python programming proficiency
• Experience with AWS data services, especially Glue and Step Functions
• Reliability Status Clearance required before employment starts
