Senior Azure Data Platform Engineer

Freshfields seeks a Senior Azure Data Platform Engineer with Databricks and lakehouse expertise to manage secure, scalable enterprise data platforms.

This senior role provides day-to-day engineering and technical management across Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Unity Catalog, and integration services. You will maintain platform health, availability, security, performance, and cost efficiency. The work supports analytics, business intelligence, artificial intelligence, and machine learning through trusted data products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Azure, Databricks, Unity Catalog, Collibra, and Immuta platforms
• Optimize clusters, workloads, storage, compute, scheduling, and costs
• Build lakehouse solutions using Delta Lake, Spark, PySpark, Python, and SQL
• Develop batch and streaming pipelines with Azure Data Factory
• Lead incidents, root-cause analysis, remediation, and problem management

Requirements:

• Five to ten years of relevant hands-on engineering experience
• Advanced Databricks experience, including Spark, Workflows, and performance tuning
• Strong Microsoft Azure, Python, and SQL skills
• Experience managing production enterprise data platforms
• Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and monitoring
