Senior Backend Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Build Authentication as a Service at eBay with Java, Spring Boot, REST, and cloud infrastructure expertise. Work on scalable backend systems.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop production-grade backend services for authentication workflows. You will shape architecture, infrastructure, and deployment foundations for a reusable platform extending eBay capabilities to Depop and other marketplaces. The work combines software engineering with direct operational ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and operate scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems
• Build Google Cloud infrastructure using Terraform
• Provision Cloud Run, databases, load balancers, and messaging systems
• Develop event-driven architectures with Pub/Sub or Kafka
• Improve CI/CD, monitoring, observability, and deployment automation

Requirements:

• Six or more years of professional software engineering experience
• Production experience with Java or comparable backend languages
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
• Hands-on Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code experience
• Experience operating applications on Google Cloud Platform or AWS
