Overview
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will lead the technical development of an eCommerce site within a Digital team for a travel company, driving improvements and automation. You’ll collaborate with frontend and design to enhance UI/UX and analyse features to optimise performance. You’ll shape continuous delivery pipelines and automate testing to ensure quality. This role combines hands-on coding with cross‑functional collaboration in a remote-friendly, agile environment, offering meaningful impact on customer experiences.
Responsibilities- Lead eCommerce web and application development from a technical perspective
- Collaborate with frontend and design to enhance UI/UX
- Analyse existing features to propose improvements
- Identify automation opportunities in collaboration with the business lead
- Implement automated regression testing for developed software
- Excellent knowledge of ASP.NET, C#, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, React
- MS SQL Server, MongoDB, Elasticsearch experience
- Understanding of SOLID principles
- Experience with Umbraco CMS
- Continuous Delivery tools and techniques (Git, GitHub, TeamCity, Octopus, Jenkins, Selenium)
- Azure cloud services knowledge (deploying/managing resources)
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
- Experience with REST APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger) and formats like JSON/XML/SOAP
- PowerBI/PowerQuery/R experience
- Structured testing approaches (TDD/BDD)
- Agile/Kanban environment experience
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
