Senior Backend Engineer (London)

In this Senior Backend Engineer role, you will design, build, and evolve scalable backend services as part of Fresha’s global platform. You’ll collaborate across product, design, and infrastructure teams to take features from concept to production in a microservice-driven, Kubernetes-based environment. You will work with a polyglot stack and leverage AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery while upholding security and quality. This role offers high impact in a fast-paced, autonomous setting with a strong emphasis on collaboration and delivery.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, Frontend, Infrastructure, and Mobile teams to drive features from discovery to rollout
• Own features from design to observability, including technical design, implementation, testing, and rollout
• Design, build, and maintain Ruby/Elixir code for scalable, reliable systems
• Work with a polyglot stack (Ruby, Elixir, GraphQL, TypeScript, gRPC) and modern messaging (Kafka)
• Operate in a Kubernetes-driven, microservices environment
• Apply Domain-Driven Design to deliver high-quality products from inception to delivery

• 5+ years in product engineering, developer tools, or infrastructure at scale
• Experience building and maintaining globally distributed systems
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Kafka)
• Familiarity with languages such as Elixir, Ruby, or TypeScript
• Experience integrating AI agents to augment developer productivity while ensuring code quality and security
