- Lead design, development, and optimisation of backend services in Python and Rust
- Architect scalable, distributed systems to meet platform needs
- Enhance reliability with robust monitoring and alerting
- Promote code quality, testing, and CI/CD best practices
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams on complex projects
- Mentor engineers and foster technical excellence
- Drive technical decision-making and backend evolution
- Ensure performance and stability of critical services with forward-looking improvements
- 6+ years of software engineering, focused on backend systems
- Familiarity with Python or at least one compiled language (Java, C++, Rust, Go) and interest in Rust
- Experience designing/building distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar)
- Strong DevOps knowledge and tools, including GitLab and Kubernetes
- Experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka) and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Bonus: experience in Sports Betting or Finance
