Senior Backend Software Engineer

Lead complex backend software delivery at Prenuvo using Python, Flask, or FastAPI in Vancouver’s hybrid model or remotely across Canada.

As a Senior Engineer II, you will provide technical leadership across large, ambiguous initiatives spanning multiple systems and teams. You will shape software architecture, support AI-assisted development, and improve reliability across services. The work includes backend testing, cross-functional collaboration, and consumer-facing applications or internal tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver complex software solutions across multiple systems or teams
• Own projects from design through rollout
• Guide architecture, code reviews, and engineering practices
• Improve reliability, scalability, observability, and incident response
• Communicate technical concepts to engineers, product managers, and leadership

Requirements:

• Seven or more years delivering complex software systems
• Strong backend experience with Python, Flask, or FastAPI
• Experience writing comprehensive backend tests using Pytest
• Ability to break complex projects into clear milestones
• Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams
