Senior Backend Software Engineer .NET

Build .NET backend services in Vancouver with REST APIs, Temporal workflows, and asynchronous processing for a K-12 education SaaS platform.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop core services for Appnovation’s operational platform. You will work with ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, PostgreSQL, and event-driven integrations. The cross-functional scrum team owns services from refinement through release readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop versioned .NET Core REST APIs with validation and documentation
• Build worker services for scheduled and queue-driven processing
• Model PostgreSQL data and tune query performance
• Enforce authorization through OpenFGA and integrate Keycloak authentication
• Own feature areas through testing, release, and support

Requirements:

• At least 5-7 years developing C# and .NET backend systems
• Strong command of .NET Core and ASP.NET Core Web API
• Experience building RESTful APIs for frontend or third-party clients
• Relational modelling and SQL skills with PostgreSQL or equivalent
• Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
