Overview

In this role you will transform complex data into actionable insights to support sustainable decision making. You will lead the design and delivery of reports, dashboards and analyses that inform operations, customer services, finance and commercial functions. You’ll combine Power BI and Fabric expertise with business understanding to create clear information products for senior stakeholders. As a technical lead, you will mentor colleagues and promote BI best practices to deliver measurable value.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver management reports, dashboards and analysis for stakeholders across Biffa
  • Lead BI and reporting projects from requirements and design through to implementation and adoption
  • Partner with business teams to understand challenges, define meaningful measures and identify opportunities to create value
  • Present complex analysis clearly to senior stakeholders, highlighting trends and opportunities
  • Create and enhance Power BI products and Fabric data models that are accurate, intuitive, performant and trusted
  • Drive effective use of BI products through stakeholder engagement, training, usage monitoring and continuous improvement
  • Act as a technical specialist within the BI team, reviewing outputs and mentoring other business teams
  • Stay up to date with Microsoft data technologies, software developments and BI best practice
Key requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience in a business-facing BI, reporting or analytical role
  • Advanced experience developing reports, dashboards and semantic models in Power BI
  • Proven success leading and delivering BI or management information projects
  • Strong SQL, data modelling and analytical skills, including experience with Fabric
  • Experience eliciting business requirements and translating them into technical specifications and information products
  • Ability to interpret complex data and present insights to non-technical and senior audiences
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or providing technical guidance to other analysts
