Overview

As Senior BI Engineer, you own the data warehouse and ERP data sync across FinTech and Fashion Tech, leading the BI team to deliver trusted reporting. You translate strategy into delivery, set technical standards, and mentor others while tackling the hardest builds. You’ll influence platform direction, potentially migrating from Databricks to Microsoft Fabric, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive data-driven decisions across Finance, Commercial, Buying and Product.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor and guide the BI team, turning strategy into deliverable plans and raising quality standards.
  • Lead design reviews, pairing, and code reviews to uplift engineers on reports and data work.
  • Own the data warehouse, including dimensional model and loading pipelines, and maintain data consistency as it grows.
  • Manage data sync between ERP and the warehouse, ensuring timely, complete, and usable data.
  • Deliver scalable, performant Power BI reports from end-to-end data models.
  • Design and build data pipelines in Python, PySpark, and Delta Lake; implement T-SQL behind models and reconciliations.
  • Monitor cost, performance, and reliability; continuously improve live platforms.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Tech, and Fashion stakeholders to translate needs into data requirements.
  • Coordinate with Solution, Architecture, Security and Risk teams; follow ASOS governance and release processes; work through Azure DevOps.

Key requirements
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, PySpark and Delta Lake for scalable data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Azure data stack (ADF, Functions, Logic Apps, Storage).
  • Experience with Databricks and Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse concepts, and modern data engineering.
  • Solid SQL/T-SQL skills; experience with Kimball dimensional modeling and data warehouse design.
  • ERP data integration experience, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, DAX, and data modeling for effective reporting.
  • Leadership experience mentoring engineers and setting technical standards.
  • Stakeholder management across Finance, Tech, and Commercial teams; ability to challenge data requests.
