Senior Budget Planning Officer

Lead university budget planning and financial analysis at MacEwan University in a full-time continuing position with Budget and Resource Planning.

As Senior Budget Officer, you will support departments, schools, and faculties across the university. The work includes quarterly forecasting, compliance, strategic budget coordination, and three-year financial planning. You will collaborate with leaders and budget officers on financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, grants, tuition, and fees
• Support capital project budgeting and contribution funding forecasts
• Model legislative, regulatory, policy, and staffing cost impacts
• Consolidate the university’s three-year financial plan
• Supervise, train, coach, and coordinate staff assignments

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field
• Minimum seven years of progressively responsible accounting experience
• Completion or near completion of a CPA designation
• Experience preparing budget and forecast submissions
• Advanced Microsoft Office and complex Excel spreadsheet knowledge
