Senior Business Analyst

In this NHS analytics and transformation role, you’ll help healthcare organisations improve operational performance and redesign clinical pathways. You work closely with clinical and operational teams to identify challenges, derive insights, and support measurable change. You’ll conduct multi-day client engagements across the UK, delivering performance reports, demand and capacity assessments, and improvement plans that drive decision-making and benefits realisation. This is a consultative, non-software role focused on analytics, governance and transformation.

- Analyse NHS operational data to identify productivity opportunities, pathway improvements and service efficiencies
- Perform demand and capacity modelling, backlog analysis and pathway-level performance analysis
- Engage NHS stakeholders to understand priorities, facilitate workshops, and co-develop improvement roadmaps
- Establish baselines, targets and measures; develop dashboards and board-ready reports
- Ensure data quality and governance across NHS systems and information security requirements
- Present complex analyses clearly to clinical, operational and executive audiences
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to analytical best practice and transformation methodologies
- Experience in NHS analytics, performance, BI, operational improvement or transformation roles
- Strong knowledge of NHS operational data and performance measures (RTT/PTL, elective recovery, outpatient, theatre, diagnostics)
- Advanced analytical skills to interrogate and interpret complex datasets; explain limitations
- Strong SQL, Excel and Power BI skills including dashboard creation
- Experience communicating with clinicians, managers and senior leaders; stakeholder management
- Ability to work independently under intensive client-site engagements; manage competing priorities
- Degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent professional experience
