Overview

In this role, you will shape, capture, and deliver requirements for complex defence programmes in a secure, regulated environment. You’ll work within an Agile software context while also producing URDs for traditional projects, aligning delivery with operational objectives. You’ll liaise with stakeholders, developers, and operations to design and implement scalable systems for hundreds of MoD users. This position offers a 4-day week, hybrid work, and the chance to contribute to mission-critical military technology.

Responsibilities
  • Write high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria for Agile teams
  • Create URDs, process docs, and project artefacts
  • Lead yearly software reviews with customers and capture improvements
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops to gather and prioritise requirements
  • Develop As-Is and To-Be process models for business change
  • Act as liaison between business and technical teams in a DevOps setting
  • Support application delivery lifecycles with business alignment
  • Contribute to backlog management and sprint planning
  • Maintain end-to-end traceability of requirements through delivery
  • Manage requirements lifecycle from concept to refinement
  • Balance multiple workstreams and delivery timelines
  • Engage with defence stakeholders while upholding security and regulatory standards
Key requirements
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst
  • Experience in a DevOps environment
  • Strong knowledge of Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall
  • Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, URDs, and specifications
  • Facilitation of stakeholder workshops across organisational levels
  • Proficiency in process mapping and As-Is/To-Be modelling
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams
  • Strong communication with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience supporting delivery activities and managing workstreams/components
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence and Visio
  • Excellent communication skills
