Overview

As a Senior Business Analyst in London, you will help digitise BP's global trading operations, with a focus on Biofuels. You will partner with business leaders, product owners and delivery teams to identify and implement technology solutions that deliver measurable business value. You’ll lead analysis in an Agile environment across a mix of legacy systems and modern services, promoting automation and new tech adoption while communicating clearly with stakeholders. You will work to align solutions with BP’s trading, shipping and sustainability goals and drive tangible impact.

Responsibilities
  • Lead analysis for an Agile, business-facing development team to build and improve applications and services for global operations
  • Partner with business leaders, product owners, and development teams to prioritise and implement technology solutions that deliver business value
  • Provide vision and leadership to foster high-quality, collaborative delivery within a safe, high-performing team
  • Navigate a landscape of legacy monoliths to microservices
  • Support Agile practices, metrics-based development, TDD/BDD, and adaptability to change
  • Develop and measure impact strategies ensuring solutions deliver demonstrable business value
  • Use strong communication to present complex information, gain consensus, and manage expectations
  • Identify and champion AI tools and approaches to enhance solutions
Key requirements
  • Proven Business Analyst experience in a large, complex organisation, preferably energy/commodities trading
  • Strong BA and functional design skills
  • Experience in collaborative, goal-driven teams
  • Experience with Agile delivery
  • Experience in business-facing tech teams in high-pressure environments
  • Experience working with offshore vendors and consultancies
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, including senior management
  • Comprehensive knowledge in requirements definition, stakeholder management, service delivery, testing, business process change, and data analysis
