In this Senior Software Engineer role at WTW, you will contribute to building market-leading insurance pricing solutions within a close-knit, Scrum-driven team. You will shape features from backlog to production, emphasizing reliability, maintainability, usability, and performance. You’ll work on scalable, testable C#/.NET code and collaborate with QA and Product to deliver high-quality software. - Collaborate with Product Owner to refine and deliver the product backlog
- Design and document software solutions meeting functional and non-functional requirements
- Implement and refactor product code (C#) with maintainability and performance in mind
- Develop unit tests and test frameworks, and automate test cases
- Review and debug code to identify defects, bottlenecks, or technical debt
- Coordinate with test engineers to ensure coverage and assist with manual testing when needed
- Participate in Scrum events and strive to improve team velocity and engineering practices
- Mentor junior team members and take a lead role in selected activities
- Proficient in C#/.NET development
- Full SDLC experience in a commercial/production environment
- Experience with object-oriented design, design patterns, SOLID, Agile/XP
- Experience with development tools: IDEs, version control, test automation, CI, defect/backlog systems
- Ability to design high-performance, scalable, and testable architectures
- GUI design/implementation knowledge with WPF or WinForms
- Awareness of current/emerging technologies and cloud capabilities
- Azure DevOps and Git experience
- Unit and GUI test automation frameworks such as MS Test
- Azure and Cloud technologies
- Strong mathematical/algorithms interest
- General knowledge of the Insurance Industry
- Degree-educated in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
- Desirable: interest in AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
